The other guys showed some restraint and are still rockin’ Windows 7. I only resisted the shiny newness for 36 hours before I pressed the button and upgraded to Windows 10 — which is fantastic, after my third attempt to install the software.
The happiest conspiracy theory site on earth, MiceChat.com tells the Los Angeles Times that Disney may be planning to spend $1,000,000,000 (yes, that’s the correct number of zeros) on a huge expansion of their showcase park. It centers around a promise Disney made to the city of Anaheim, which we get into full detail.
That, or they are planning to make a mass grave. But hey, it’d be the happiest genocide on Earth, right?
Windows 10 Review
We dig through all the reasons and reasons and reasons why you should not upgrade to Windows 10 right away. Then I explain why you should go ahead and upgrade anyway, especially if you are an uber-nerd.
It did bother me that to do a clean install of Windows, I had to actually delete my computer’s C-drive partition. Formatting the drive wasn’t enough. That’s kind of scary.
It’s going to take the other guys another 8-to-11 months before they’ll jump on board. But I don’t feel like I left anything behind by loading Windows 10. Of course, I was coming from Windows 8.1, so it wasn’t like I had a lot to lose.
Good Public Relation Strategy
The old adage in P.R. was to deny and obfuscate the truth long enough until the public lost interest in the crisis and forgot about the problem. It was a great strategy back in the 80s when people could only shout at their TV, write a far-too-formal letter to their local newspaper which nobody read, and that was about it.
In today’s two-way decentralized media environment, companies and politicians have to play it smart. We found two great examples where a clever P.R. person turned a public nightmare into a clever marketing strategy.
